ECODESIGN Mark This certificate is awarded to companies that make environmental improvements in their products through an effective design management process. Certification is done based on the UNE 150301:2003 standard: Environmental management of the design and development process. Ecodesign.

The management system certification whose requirements are established by said standard can be used for:

Demonstrating the on-going improvement in the products of companies from the design phase, taking into account all significant environmental aspects of their products and services that may be affected.
Providing a reliable guarantee in selecting products with environmental improvements.
Promoting eco-purchases at all levels, both Administrative and by companies and final consumers.
Cooperating in guaranteeing compliance of the directives arising from the new European environmental policy focus (Integrated Products Policy - IPP).

Organisations are becoming more and more aware of how important it is for the company to manage its own activities, products and services from the environmental standpoint, in order to be competitive. Environmental improvements in the business activity are implemented through management systems frameworks but insufficient focus has been given to the environmental aspects of products and services.
