Searching for aThe SQAS (Safety and Quality Assessment Systems) scheme consists of verifying compliance with quality, safety and environmental requirements defined by the chemical industry for its suppliers.
Following an evaluation, AENOR issues an "attestation" bearing witness that it has made the evaluation, regardless of the result thereof.
It is not a certification, as it is not necessary to comply with a series of minimum requirements. The evaluation shows the existing situation at the time it is carried out and bears witness to this.
The SQAS surveys include not only the questions to be asked during the evaluation, but also the method for performing the evaluation.
It is the responsibility of the chemical industry and the supplier being evaluated to correct and improve on the results of the evaluation.
The SQAS scheme is owned by CEFIC, (European Chemical Industries Federation). As a certification entity authorised by CEFIC, AENOR can perform the SQAS evaluations and issue the attestation, using qualified staff.
CEFIC posts an updated list of companies that have been evaluated in accordance with SQAS in its website.
