Environmental management Mark This is a mark that demonstrates compliance with standard. It states that the System of the organisation to which it has been awarded has been subjected to the evaluations and controls established in the certification system and that AENOR has obtained sufficient confidence in its compliance with UNE-EN ISO 14001 Standard.

The AENOR Environmental Management Mark allows organisations to demonstrate that it has implemented an efficient system of environmental management and, consequently, its commitment to conserving the environment.

The new UNE-EN ISO 14001:2004 standard establishes a series of changes and improvements over previous editions that can be grouped into five key elements:

Emphasis on the efficacy of the system in achieving optimum environmental results
Alignment with the quality management systems (UNE-EN ISO 9001:2000)
Greater importance given to the evaluation of legal compliance.
It improves the interpretation and understanding of the elements contained in the standard.
Great involvement of subcontractors and suppliers in management responsibilities.
