R+D+I Projects

AENOR Mark for R+D+IUNE 166001:2002 EX Standard is the reference standard for defining, documenting and developing R+D+I projects and also includes aspects related to project management and the ensuing use of the results.

 

 

 

There are two types of Certification of R+D+I Projects:

  • Certificate of contents and budgets

    Compliance of the project is determined based on UNE 166001 standard and the R+D+I content of the project is established through a technical report in accordance with the Corporation Tax Law.

  • Certification of contents and execution

    In addition to what is included in type one above an audit is performed to verify the project execution.

    AENOR is the certifying entity accredited by ENAC for the certification of R+D+I projects. This certification enables companies to obtain a justified report from the Ministry of Science and Technology that is binding on the Treasury (Royal Decree 1432/2003, OSG November 29 2003 and additional provision eleven of Act 32/2003, OSG dated November 4 2003).

  • It helps the company management to find out whether the investment they are about to make is proportionate, in view of the project content.
  • It systematizes R+D+I projects and improves the management of such projects, establishing objectives and goals that help them to control the resources allocated to achieving them.
  • It prevents wasted effort in generating own technology, trademarks or patents through which additional benefits can be obtained by technology transfer or tax relief.
  • It identifies the risks associated with the R+D+I activity in order to better define the control mechanisms that will help to reduce or eliminate them.
  • It permits an analysis of the results of the R+D+I activities to help those responsible to take future decisions in this field.

The R+D+I Projects Certification can be performed in the following cases:

  • Certificate of contents and budgets
  • Projects not executed in which it is required to demonstrate their content in R+D+I to Public Administrations, internal bodies within the company or project clients.
  • Certificate of contents and execution
  • Projects in the process of being executed or which have already been completed in which it is required to demonstrate the real expense incurred in carrying out the project.
